Issues
  • We need to ensure schools have the tools they need to provide the very best teaching possible. We need to prepare our children for the future and “leave no child behind.”
  • We need to responsibly manage state funds. Just like a family, the state needs to pay its bills on time and the budgeting process needs to more accurately reflect reality.
  • We need to stimulate business activity by formulating incentives for businesses to create quality jobs that provide an income families can live on.
  • The proper function of government is to do for the people those things that have to be done but cannot be done, or cannot be done as well, by individuals. The most effective government is government closest to the people
  • Good government is based on the individual and that each person's ability, dignity, freedom, and responsibility must be honored and recognized.
  • Free enterprise and the encouragement of individual initiative have given this nation an economic system second to none.
  • We must protect equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all; regardless of ethnic heritage, creed, age, sex, or national origin.
  • We must retain those principles of the past worth retaining, yet always be receptive to new ideas with an outlook broad enough to accommodate thoughtful change and varying points of view.
  • As Americans we must value and should preserve our national strength and pride. At the same time, we must share with people everywhere a desire for peace and freedom and the extension of human rights throughout the world.
